The
BDC has worked hard to keep its image a positive one in the gaming
community. Yes, it’s only a game, but the BDC has become a very tight
group and is very proud of its name in the gaming community. We do
our best to respect one another and the people that play around us.
Ultimately it is just a game, but we still find that without order
there is chaos. People sometimes don’t realize what it takes to keep a
group of people together and a guild functioning. There are always
bumps in the road, but since Nov '04 we’ve been able to keep the
guild together. We invite people to our guild on a regular basis
and we
ask that some general guidelines are observed. Being part of our
community means:
Respect yourself and others: Treat people as you would like to
be treated.
Help the
community: You’re going to get out of a guild what you put into
it.
Be
respectful to the gaming community and realm: This is pretty
simple. Don’t talk trash; don’t make comments in the community
that would tarnish the BDC name. Our tag is over your head; if you’re
going to make a fool of yourself, you can do it without our name
attached to it. This applies to the game zones, community and
other guild forums.
Don’t
Ninja loot: This is also self-explanatory; just don’t do it.
If it happens to you, take screenshots and document the situation.

Being a member of our community also
gives you the opportunity to be a priority raider in our guild. You
don’t have to be a priority raider in order to be a member, but if you
chose to be, the following is expected of you:
Participate! The point of having a
Priority Raider spot is being there.
Signup for raids: Just because you
are listed as a Priority Raider doesn’t mean you do not have to sign up
for our raids. If you do not sign up for a raid you risk being bumped
for someone who did, regardless if they are a Priority Raider slot.
Pay
attention: The point of raiding is to progress. If we tell
people to clam up during a raid, don’t take it personally. With raids
being 20 to 40 people, we just don’t have the time to get into debates
during raids. Thoughts can be expressed after the event happens.
Come
Prepared: Make sure you have what your class leaders have
specified is needed for the raid. They will do spot checks from time to
time.
Understand your class: Know how to play your class, know what
causes agro and what does not. Know what is the best approach to the
different areas of the game world are. There are plenty of people in guild
that will help you understand your class better.
Time is
valuable: Don’t waste time. Keep AFKs to a minimum. If you do
go AFK, make sure and let someone know and turn on your AFK flag. We’re
not here to waste people's time when raiding.
Understand this is a team effort: Opinions are like assholes:
everyone has one. Just understand that management is always trying to
do what is best for the raid as a whole. If your suggestion or
opinion isn’t implemented, don’t take it personally or get bent over it.
Raid with other guilds during our raids:
You've joined this guild to be part
of it. You've been put in a raiding position to help us progress.
Raiding with other guilds while we have a raid scheduled is a no-no.
Locking yourself out of instances we are currently running is also a
no-no. We don't mind if you want to roll in an instance with
someone else, as long as it doesn't affect your raiding status with us.
These are just some general
guidelines that should be followed. More specific rules on raiding
and Priority Raider slots can be found in
the members section of our forums once you are a member of our
community.
